Yellow Farmhouse Winery

The Yellow Farmhouse in Defiance has always been a landmark to travelers on Missouri Highway 94.  Situated at the “S” turn in downtown Defiance, it lies at the bottom of a steep hillside that is perfect for growing grapes.  Winemaker, Dale L. Rollings, acquired the property in 2004 and planted Norton and Traminette vines forming the first wines of the Yellow Farmhouse Vineyards.

The first vintage of the winery was 2006.  The property has now expanded to include almost 10 acres rising up the hill with sweeping views of the Missouri River Valley.  A beautiful green lawn on the hillside provides the perfect picnic area where baskets and coolers (no alcoholic beverages), are welcome.  The new tasting room, opened in 2007, offers a selection of Missouri wines, mustards, snacks and wine related gifts.

Take a walk through our vineyard with a knowledgeable grower, or tour the small, but very high-tech winery.  Taste an array of hand crafted house-made Missouri wines and talk wine with our Tasting Room Manger or Winemaker.  The Yellow Farmhouse is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon – easy to get to- easy to find.  At the Gateway to Missouri’s Wine Country on Highway 94 at Defiance.
