West Winery was started in August of 2007, with the goal of providing a fun, relaxing setting to enjoy and learn about wine and winemaking. Our renovated 1800s tasting room features plenty of indoor seating and overlooks our winemaking facility. We bring the outdoors in with our unique glass front, which rolls up (weather permitting). Conveniently located less than one mile off of Highway 63 (in downtown Macon), we are a 20 minute drive south from the La Plata Train Depot & Inn. Our specialty is a variety of dry, sweet and spiced fruit wines, made from apricots, peaches, pears, apples, plums and nectarines from local orchards. Train lovers will delight in our Loco Vino Collector's Series (www.railroadwinery.com); dry and semi-dry wines featuring Missouri's finest grapes, and beautiful train images on the labels. Although we offer sausage and cheese baskets, we welcome you to bring your own picnic (no outside alcohol, please). We also offer home winemaking kits, supplies and advice. Located within one block of Maples Repertory Theatre and JP’s Gourmet Gifts. Highway 63 into Macon, to the Vine Street stoplight (1/4 mile north of Lolli Sale Barn). Head west on Vine; the winery is less than one mile down, on the right-hand side.
